Armita project
The Armita Project, named in memory of Armita Geravand, was initiated under the leadership and management of Dr. Mohammad Reza Sargolzaei (psychiatrist) following the start of public protests against the state-sponsored killing of Mahsa (Jina) Amini, aiming to provide aid to human rights activists and victims of state violence.
As the Iranian government responded to the rightful public protests (known as the Woman, Life, Freedom movement) with widespread repression, numerous arrests, and killings, a group of Iranian psychotherapists joined forces to establish a network of volunteer therapists to support human rights activists. This includes activists released from prison, individuals injured by security forces during the protests, those tortured in detention centers and prisons, and those who have lost a family member.
