Armita's project

The Armita project, named in memory of Armita Geravand, started its work with the efforts and management of Dr. Mohammad Reza Sargolzaei (psychiatrist) after the public protests against the government killing of Mahsa (Zhina) Amini in the direction of providing aid to human rights activists and victims of government violence.

Since the government of Iran, in response to the protest of people’s rights (known as the Women-Life-Freedom Movement), started widespread repression, many arrests and killings, a group of Iranian psychotherapists joined to support human rights activists by setting up a network of volunteer therapists. The activists who are released from prison, the people who were injured by the security forces during the protests or were tortured in the detention center and prison, and the people who lost a member of their family.

After a year and a half since the start of this project, we decided to attract help from human rights institutions and associations to improve and expand relief and create stronger infrastructure so that we can provide better services to our comrades in the next wave of popular protests.
